To continue with my “back to school” theme, here’s some sassy sweet poetry…again, from families.com!
A Circle of Friends by unknown
We’ve joined together as classmates
as the new year begins…
A year full of learning
while we become friends.
We’ll share and be kind
as we work and play.
And our friendship will grow
with each passing day.
For my “Al”:

The First Day of School by Aileen Fisher
I wonder if my drawing will be as good as theirs
I wonder if they’ll like me, or just be full of stares
I wonder if my teacher will look like mom or gram
And I wonder if my puppy will wonder where I am.
Say that three times fast! Here are some adorable school/education quotes to use for those back to school layouts, courtesy of families.com. Check ‘em out!
“In elementary school many a true word is spoken in guess.” – Henny Youngman
“Nothing grieves a child more than to study the wrong lesson and learn something he wasn’t suppose to.” – E.C. McKenzie
“When a teacher calls a boy by his entire name, it means trouble.” – Mark Twain
“Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world” – Albert Einstein
“You can lead a boy to college, but you cannot make him think.” – Elbert Hubbard
“When the student is ready the teacher will appear.” – Lao Tzu
“The important thing is never to stop questioning.” – Albert Einstein

Sorry it’s been so long between posts! I’ve had a crazy summer! The cool thing is, my niece started kindergarten and I dedicate this post to her and all the cool pics I’ll be scrapping of her first day of school! Gingerscraps has some adorable layouts. Hope you love them as much as I do!

Life as Lou has some really great ideas! This is wonderful and every kid loves to see how many books they’ve read during the summer, don’t they? Well, at least every mother likes to see how many books the kids have read…
Look at these adorable flowers and Life As Lou tells you how to make them!
Making the paper posies is quite simple- just cut 3 circles in 3 different sizes (I used circle punches), then layer them up and pop a button in the center. Of course, I have to distress the tar out of nearly everything so mine are misted, inked, edge distressed and crumpled to within an inch of their lives before they hit the page.
